WOMEN CHALLENGING AND CHANGING THEIR MONEY BELIEFS
THE MONEY BELIEFS INTENSIVE
This extended Money Empowerment format is for women who want additional support
as they look deeply at the money beliefs and patterns interfering with their relationship to
money. It is best offered as a three-hour evening with a following all-day session in a
comfortable and nurturing environment. Meals may be provided by the sponsoring
organization.
The group, limited to 15 women, will create a safe space for open sharing and peer
support. Visioning, affirmations, and telling of legends are used in this multi-sensory
approach to deep personal change. Drawing on the Empowerment Workshop model
developed by Gall Straub and David Gershon, Lu leads participants in becoming aware of
their unique Money Operating Systems, refining their vision of a new way of relating to
money and in creating new beliefs to replace old; limiting beliefs about money.
By having the preliminary session at least 24-hours before the day-long session,
participants are able to dive deeply into their personal background for this exploration. It
is a precious time for participants to focus on the deeply personal work of transforming
their limiting beliefs about themselves and money, and to clear a pathway for a healthy
and successful relationship to money.
Explorations in this workshop include:
- Money- What Is It, Really?
- Our Early Introduction To Money
- The Taboos And The Norms
- Moneyphobias
- Our Money Belief System - Identifying our Limiting Beliefs
- Turnarounds Replace the Limiting Beliefs
- Visioning and Moving into Change
- Resources for an Empowered Relationship with Money
- Writing Our Look-Back Story
Men - We find these gender-separated groups to be quite powerful. If you or your
organization want to sponsor a group like this, please contact The Balancing Act through
the Mailing List or E-Mail.
Mixed Gender Groups - We have had enormous success with men and women working
together when they are already experienced with and committed to deep personal work,
such as recovery work. For instance, this format was the central focus of an annual
meeting for a group of medical professionals in recovery. The program was modified to
include extremely pertinent readings from recovery materials. The willingness to change
and the powerful steps taken in that program were quite moving.
"Just a short note in appreciation of your time and shared resources during your class.
I found the group to be open and enjoyable, and felt very comfortable in sharing some
of the personal aspects involved."
