Lu Bauer, Holistic CPA and Money Counselor

Lu Bauer with a group of women Hello, I'm Lu Bauer, and I help people transform their relationship to money. I help them go from paralyzing fear to joyous faith in their ability to handle money in their lives.

Through my workshops, seminars, writings and individual counseling, I have helped hundreds of people redefine their financial lives. I work with business groups, with women who are on their own for the first time, and with companies that want to help their associates find a better life.

I'm a CPA with a Masters of Taxation Degree from Bentley College and B.S. from Northeastern, with five years' experience with Peat Marwick. I began my individual accounting practice in 1983.

I taught taxation and accounting at the University of Southern Maine. In 1996 I was awarded with the "Maine Small Business Advocate of the Year Award" by the U.S. SBA for the third time.

In my workshops, seminars and individual counseling I concentrate on helping people achieve a positive, empowered approach to their financial lives as I:
  • Demystify the rules and processes encountered in our current and changing financial and tax environment
  • Inspire involvement, establishing a positive relationship with one's financial affairs
  • Consider the emotional, physical and spiritual issues surrounding money and business matters
  • Nurture individual responsibility with caring and support
In addition to my workshops and writing on tax accounting for small businesses, I present seminars on healing our relationship to money (Money Empowerment for Women, Building Money Skills) and counsel individuals on money issues as part of my holistic accounting practice near the coast of Maine.

I have been a regular columnist ("Money at Work") for the nationally-known magazine of crafts, The Crafts Report.
